Just kidding, but seriously though, this is perhaps one of the most popular shot recipes that you’ll ever come across. It’s about as simple to make as it gets too. Here’s what you need to know about this shot and why it’s such a winner at the local bar.

Everything You Must Know About The Four Horsemen (aka 4 Horsemen) Shot

This cocktail is a simple blend of four whiskies served in a shot glass. The ingredients are four famous whiskey brands: Jim Beam bourbon whiskey, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee whiskey, Johnnie Walker Black scotch whiskey, and (John) Jameson Irish whiskey.

Since all of these whiskies are named after men whose names start with the letter J, someone was creative enough to name this cocktail the Four Horsemen for the story of the four horsemen of the apocalypse.

If you think this one may be a potent cocktail because it is made from four different whiskies, you are wrong. The alcohol content in the Four Horsemen is actually the same as in a straight shot of any regular whiskey – the cocktail comprises four half-ounce measures of each whiskey.

There is nothing special (in terms of sophistication and make) about this cocktail, and there is no particular skill required to make it. However, this is a perfect option frequently preferred by whiskey drinkers, and people who like to experiment and use the different whiskey bottles at home.

Add all the ingredients in the shot glass and serve. You can chill the whiskey bottles before making this cocktail, or you can shake up all the whiskey shots in a cocktail shaker with ice and strain it. In this case, the cocktail will be slightly watered down.

Okay, so making the cocktail is literally the same exact steps. The only difference is that you will want to serve this in a whiskey glass with one round or square cube. Another option will be to simply add a couple of ice cubes to try and that’s all there is to it! Simple as that, really!
